Sandra Lee Taylor was born June 7, 1942 in Xenia, Ohio to William and Pauline Fowler. Known as Sandy to both friends and family, she attended public school in Xenia, graduating from Xenia High school in 1960. Sandy went on to attend Ohio State University earning a bachelor of science degree for medical technology in 1964. After her junior year at OSU, Sandy married her high school sweetheart, Donald Keith Taylor, on June 22, 1963. They would enjoy more than 50 years together and welcome the blessings of a son and two daughters. Sandy was not only a constant and caring wife and mother, she was a talented and trustworthy medical technologist of 37 years. Being a people person, this was a career she greatly enjoyed. Sandy entered a gladsome and vibrant retirement from Plaza Diagnostics in June of 2004. A love of adventure led Sandy to travel all her life; but, the two places that held her heart were the rugged peaks and thick forests teeming with wildlife that surrounded her cabin at Lake Vallecito, Colorado and the picturesque Hapuna beach at North Kohla on the big island of Hawaii. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Pauline Fowler. She leaves to cherish her memory: a brother, Robert Fowler; her husband, Donald Taylor; a son, Greg Taylor; two daughters, Teri Shea and Cheryl Taylor; a daughter-in-law, Renee Taylor; a son-in-law, Bob Shea; three grandsons, Kerry Shea, Mason Taylor, Sam Taylor; aunts, nieces and a host of friends. A celebration of Sandy's well-lived life will be held at Vondel L. Smith and Son on N. MacArthur Blvd. at 1pm on Saturday, April 19th with a viewing at that same location the night before from 4-8pm with the family in attendance from 6-8pm. Memorials may be made to The National Kidney Foundation.
