Demolition of the Tecumseh Motel in Old Town, which was originally the Old Town School for some of our classmates .
In February 2021 there was an article about this building being purchased by the State of Ohio for a State Park.

Several of our classmates attended this school in Old Town where the motel is currently located: Connie Swadener, Gail Free, Doug Limes and Linda Harner. One teacher taught the 6 rows of students; one row for each grade. After the sixth grade, students went to Hilltop School at the corner of Fairgrounds Road and Hilltop Road. Previously those students went to the Goes Station School.
In the middle of the second grade they all moved to the new Xenia Township Consolidated Schools, later renamed Tecumseh.
Today, the old school is the site of the Tecumseh Motel.
Included in this picture are classmates Doug Limes, Gail Free and Connie Swadener. Also in the picture are Roy Harner, Lenville and Sue Engle, Ed Limes, Beverly and Kent Jones, Susan and Maureen Downey, Pat Henry, Phyllis Harner, Judy and Jerry Harner, David Smalley, Larry Willett, Carol Swadener, Karin Ecker, Eleanor Amllin, Mary Spitler, Marilyn Bull and Mrs. Craige (in black).
Would you believe the date and year are on the back of the picture? December 12, 1949. It was taken when I was in the second grade, just before they opened up Tecumseh on Old Springfield Pike when I was mid-way thru second grade. That picture showed 4 grades (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th).
Thanks to Connie Swadener Strayer for the picture and info (11/20/2017).
